Originally designed to help international visitors in South Korea who cannot access local digital services due to a lack of domestic authentication methods, TomoIDV has evolved to address trust gaps in global digital transactions.
While online finance and commerce continue to expand globally, most identity verification systems are still designed with domestic users in mind. As a result, international users without local identity documents or mobile accounts face difficulties when accessing payments, financial services, accommodation, mobility, and other essential digital services.
TomoIDV verifies international users via identity documents and mobile numbers issued in their home countries. Where available, submitted information is cross-checked against authoritative data sources, and the results are delivered through a standardized API. This enables businesses to verify overseas customers seamlessly without integrating separate vendors or processing multiple data formats for each market.
Its document recognition technology supports identity documents from more than 40 countries and nine writing systems. When glare, blur, or screen recapture damages part of an image, a generative restoration model repairs only the degraded fields before recognition. Other fields continue through a lightweight recognition process, helping preserve the speed required for real-time verification.
Businesses can configure document verification, selfie matching, liveness detection, phone verification, and data cross-checking based on country, service type, and risk level. This allows the same infrastructure to support different verification policies without requiring a new technical integration for each use case.
Upon successful verification, TomoIDV issues a client-specific Pseudonymous Permanent Identifier (PPID). Businesses can recognize returning users, retrieve previous results, and request reverification while reducing exposure of original identity data. Complete verification paths and outcomes are also provided as structured records for internal review and dispute response.
TomoIDV can connect with EMVCo-approved Tomo3DS to extend identity verification into global online payment authentication. Furthermore, Tomoarrow maintains robust information security and privacy management systems certified under ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701.
Tomoarrow is focusing on expanding its coverage across the United States, Japan, China, and Vietnam. Its long-term vision is to establish a global trust infrastructure that empowers businesses to serve international users safely and efficiently—without repeatedly rebuilding country-specific verification systems.
