Integrated global initiative combines boots-on-the-ground support to communities in need with a TikTok challenge to reward everyday heroes.
SEATTLE, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Today, global nonprofit Greater Good Charities launched “Good Exists”, a challenge and digital movement to combat online negativity and news fatigue, while deploying direct aid to people and pets in need.
To kick off the campaign, Greater Good Charities is launching a high-impact TikTok challenge backed by a $100,000 catalytic grant pool inviting local leaders and organizations to film a video highlighting a local act of good they saw that day and tag @greatergoodcharities and a nonprofit doing meaningful work. To transform these proposals into real-world impact, Greater Good Charities will deploy catalytic grant funding, anchored by a prize pool of $100,000 to allow five winners’ the opportunity to donate to the charity of their choice. These donations will help communities absorb the impacts of macroeconomic pressures while ensuring that local needs are met.
“The media landscape is filled with stories that leave people feeling overwhelmed and powerless, but we see a different story every day,” said Liz Baker, CEO of Greater Good Charities. “Over the past 20 years, we’ve worked with tens of thousands of local leaders who are quietly doing extraordinary work to spread good throughout their communities. Our #goodexists TikTok challenge puts a spotlight on that good and shows how much impact people can have when they step up for their communities.”
In an era dominated by doom scrolling, division, sensationalized headlines and rising economic pressure, Greater Good Charities’ “Good Exists” campaign invites individuals to join a #challenge4good, turning digital engagement into real-world impact by connecting people from local communities with Greater Good Charities boots-on-the-ground solutions and the ability to scale them. Greater Good Charities has simplified community solutions through storytelling and leveraging social engagement — ensuring these stories prove that #goodexists, reach millions and boost engagement.
“The media ecosystem rewards division and anger, and trust is at an all-time low. Meanwhile, more than 50% of Americans get their news primarily via social media, and that number is increasing globally as well. We want to send a message by flooding the TikTok feed with good news: good exists, and people want to see it,” said Noah Horton, Chief Growth Officer at Greater Good Charities. “By leveraging platforms like TikTok, we aim to connect with local leaders and community voices around the world, build a “good news” community and fund good work, delivering transparent, measurable results.”
Submissions for the Good Exists TikTok challenge officially open Oct. 5, with public voting taking place Oct. 29 – Nov. 5 and grant recipients announced Nov. 7. To learn more about the campaign, submit video or support community relief efforts, visit goodexists.greatergood.org.
