Free LiviPod App Helps Families Manage Medication Routines, While Modular Pods Add Simple, Subscription-Free Dispensing as Needed

CHARLESTON, SC, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — For decades, the primary tool for managing a daily pill routine has been the weekly pill box: seven plastic compartments filled by hand each week. The format remains widely used, but it does not provide reminders, confirm whether a dose was taken, or eliminate the need for recurring sorting. Automated alternatives have typically been offered as rental equipment with monthly fees.

LiviPod, scheduled to launch in the second half of 2026 by Innovative Dispensing II LLC, introduces a medication-management platform centered on a free mobile app.

The app is free to download and can be used independently of LiviPod hardware. Features include medication schedules, dose windows, reminders, regimen updates, and adherence records. Caregivers and family members can monitor more than one individual through a single account, share regimen information and adherence records with family members or healthcare professionals, and manage routines remotely.

The LiviPod dispensing system uses a modular design. Each pod holds one medication type and dispenses according to an app-managed schedule. A medication routine can begin with one pod, while additional pods can be added for more complex regimens. Pods may also be placed in separate rooms. Hardware is purchased outright rather than rented through a subscription program.

An optional base station provides physical security for households requiring controlled medication access. Pods can be secured in the station with a key lock, limiting access to stored medications and to dispensed doses.

Pills are loaded into individual pods and remain stored there, reducing the need for weekly pill sorting.

The hardware does not include an on-device control interface. Pods connect through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, while scheduling, dose windows, reminders, routine information, adherence history, late-dose alerts, and caregiver access are managed through the mobile app. Pods provide visual status indicators through color-coded lights.

Caregiver support is included in the same app. Family members, friends, or care professionals may be granted access to relevant medication information and can remotely initiate a dispense when assistance is needed. A dose is released only following an initiated dispense action.

The LiviPod founding team previously developed Livi, an earlier automatic pill dispenser. The LiviPod platform draws on medication-management data and experience from millions of doses dispensed in home settings.
