Upcoming capabilities will connect proactive anomaly detection, governed AI access and conversational intelligence on a standardized payments data foundation

ATLANTA, GA, UNITED STATES, September 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Optimized Payments, a leader in enterprise payments analytics and optimization, today unveiled its governed AI roadmap for Harmonize, designed to help enterprise payments teams move from identifying that something changed to understanding why it happened and determining what to do next.

This strategy brings together three connected capabilities: Harmonize Signals, Harmonize MCP and Ask Harmonize. Together, they will enable payments teams to proactively identify material changes across their payment environments, investigate the factors driving those changes and access trusted answers grounded in their organization’s standardized payments data.

“AI has enormous potential to change how payments teams work, but only if it can be trusted to understand the complexity and context behind the data,” said Anand Goel, CEO of Optimized Payments. “Our vision is to connect proactive monitoring, governed AI access and conversational intelligence so payments professionals can identify an issue, understand what is driving it and move toward action in minutes rather than days.”

From Identifying a Change to Understanding Why

Enterprise payment environments generate large volumes of data across acquirers, processors, and alternative payment providers. Differences in formats, terminology and metric definitions can make it difficult for payments teams to spot meaningful changes and determine their underlying causes.

The Harmonize AI capabilities are designed to shorten the distance between something changed and we understand why through a connected workflow:

-Harmonize Signals proactively identifies material changes and anomalies across areas such as authorization performance, cost of acceptance, and chargebacks.
-Harmonize MCP gives approved AI applications and agents governed access to standardized payments data, payments-specific definitions and certified analytical tools.
-Ask Harmonize will provide a native conversational experience that allows payments professionals to investigate their data using natural-language business questions.

For example, Harmonize Signals could alert a payments team to an unexpected decline in authorization performance. Using an MCP connector, the team could then investigate the change across dimensions such as issuer, acquirer, card brand, geography, decline reason or even a specific BIN to identify the factors contributing to the decline.

The same workflow can be applied to questions such as:

-What caused our cost of acceptance to increase last month?
-Which issuers contributed most to the decline in approval rates?
-Where are chargeback rates changing most materially?
-Which payment anomalies require our attention this week?

Rather than requiring users to manually navigate multiple reports, fields and filters, the AI capabilities are intended to make payments intelligence more proactive, accessible and actionable.

A Governed Foundation for Payments AI

Applying generative AI to payments requires more than connecting a model to a database. Metrics such as approval rate, effective rate, interchange expense and chargeback rate can be calculated differently across providers and organizations. Without the appropriate context and controls, an AI model can produce an answer that appears credible but does not reflect the definitions or calculations the business actually uses.

Harmonize addresses this challenge by bringing together payments data from multiple providers and standardizing it through a common data model, payments-specific definitions and embedded domain expertise. Harmonize currently supports more than 30 payment service provider integrations, has standardized more than 30 billion payment records and processes approximately 150 million transactions per day.

“The difficult part is not giving an AI model access to data,” said Goel. “It is doing the work beneath that connection: normalizing the data, defining how payments metrics should be calculated, establishing the appropriate guardrails and making sure those definitions are applied consistently. That governed foundation is what turns an AI-generated response into payments intelligence a business can use.”

Harmonize MCP is expected to begin rolling out to customers in early October 2026 and Ask Harmonize is planned to follow thereafter as part of the continued expansion of AI-powered experiences within the Harmonize platform.
